This Sunday (8th April) for the first time our South Site will begin its new era of meeting together as one 10.30am meeting.
The news was shared at the Site before Easter but ahead of this Sunday, it felt appropriate to give the quick story of the move and set out again what the new look South Sundays will look like.
The 9.30am and 11.30am meetings have been established for a while now, with God growing two strong meeting identities and enabling community to grow and deepen in both gatherings.
But in recent times, it has become apparent that in both settings there are real strengths and gifts that would be a huge blessing to those in the ‘other’ meeting. Coming together enables the whole South Site to enjoy and benefit from the passion, wisdom and gifts that we see within the two meetings.
We’re excited about the move for another reason too. God has deliberately set the church up not primarily as an organisation but as family – brothers and sisters who spur one another on in the Christian life. The word ‘family’ paints a glorious picture of closeness but also of diversity, as those from different ages and stages come together. We believe that in both meetings coming together as one, the Site will more closely resemble this diverse family, something that can only be a good thing.
So, as Jonathan laid out before Easter, it’s happening this Sunday, with a new look timetable:
9.30am – Come and pray. Open to everyone and all ages welcome, we’re gathering as a Site each Sunday in the Kidzcentral room to pray, for the morning but also more widely seeking to bring our requests to God and hear from Him.
10am – Refreshments served. Let’s make the most of the chance to be together.
10.30am – Morning meeting begins.
12.10pm – Refreshments served for a second time (that’s right – result!).
So, come along this Sunday for the first gathering in the new era of the South Site.
